Relax!
Read
a book in the hammock next to the pond and fountain; toast a sunset from the
deck or limestone patio; or "unstress" completely in the 33-jet spa with
waterfall.
If
you want to get out a bit, take a walk to the cemetery or old stone school
house; bicycle for a picnic at Echo Cliff; and canoe back to the Inn on Mission
Creek.
K-4
Highway is a favorite for bicyclists and motorcyclists alike. The
winding road with hills and valleys offers beautiful vistas of this
agricultural area at the edge of the Flint Hills.
Fishing Mission
Creek, behind the Inn, may be an ideal spot to throw in a fishing line,
or we can obtain permission for fishing in a stocked pond, or you can
fish off the bridge at Echo Cliff, which is also a fun spot for hunting
fossils.
WildlifeThe wooded lot and hanging bird feeders at the Inn offer
the opportunity to spot native feathered friends,
including owls and turkeys,
as well as an occasional deer. All we ask is that you help our goldfish stay
just out of reach of that pesky raccoon!

up-close look at Bison Ranching where hides, skulls, & meat are for
sale.
Missile
base specialists, Ed & Dianna Peden, live in a refurbished Atlas E
missile site in Dover. Their company, 20th Century Castles, markets
de-commissioned nuclear sites. Tours may be arranged by appointment, $3
per person; $10 minimum.
Photography
Photo-enthusiasts love this area!
One in particular, Carol Yoho, has contributed many pictures to the
website and has a great site of her own featuring other wonderful
photographs of Kansas.
We
have our own panoramic theater - the western sky. Relax with a cool
glass of ice tea or a hot cup of coffee on the back deck/balcony and
enjoy the spectacular sunsets!

FINE DINING
Although 50 minutes away in Manhattan, KS, the dining experience
that awaits you at the award-winning 4
Olives Wine Bar makes it well worth the drive. And because
Executive Chef/Owner Scott Benjamin is the son of Sage Innkeeper Ken,
reservations are guaranteed! Make your romantic get away complete by
visiting what some reviewers have described as the best restaurant in Kansas!

Dover Heritage Day The third Saturday in June is Dover's Heritage Day.
The day kicks off with a pancake feed at the Fire Station, followed by
a children's parade at 9:30 AM. A community parade begins at 1 PM,
followed by a draft horse pull contest at 2 PM.
Throughout
the day there are activities at the school grounds from early craftsmen
demonstrating their skill to antiques booths, food booths, music,
turtle races, train rides, etc. A BBQ supper, antiques appraisal fair,
and live evening entertainment begins at 5 PM, with a grand finale of
fireworks at dusk!
Christmas In The Country
The
second weekend in November several rural Antiques & Gift shops get
together to provide a Christmas in the Country weekend. Specials on
Christmas gifts, country crafts, and decor jump-start the holidays.
Tours, including the Sage Inn, show off prized collectibles. Book
signings by Kansas authors, live musical jamboree, home-made cider,
fresh-baked pie, lunch and dinner specials at the cafe, add to the
enjoyment of a drive in the country. CLICK ON PICTURES FOR CURRENT YEAR'S SCHEDULE.
